General Dentistry
At Town Square Family Dentistry, we care about you and your family’s dental health, so our focus is always on preventive dentistry and patient education. We recommend that our patients come to our office twice each year for examinations and cleanings. These visits allow us to discover problems while they are still small.
It also offers us an opportunity to ensure our patients are educated about treatment so they can make informed decisions about their oral health. Patients who are invested in their oral health can often avoid many of the typical dental conditions that cause tooth loss and disease.
We would be honored to be your dentist of choice in the San Diego area! Contact us today to make an appointment.
Routine Examinations
Coming in twice a year for routine exams enables Dr. Hema Srinivasan to check your teeth for signs of cavities and decay. The earlier we can detect a problem, the less invasive—and less expensive—treatment generally is.
Because gum disease often presents without any symptoms, the only way to know for sure that your gums are healthy is with a thorough dental examination. Many adults have gum disease, from mild gingivitis to more severe periodontitis, and they aren’t getting treatment because they are unaware they have it. Periodontal disease affects the gums as well as the bone supporting the teeth.
Also, Dr. Hema can examine the hard and soft tissues of your mouth, screening you for problems such as oral cancer.
Professional Cleanings
If you are a diligent brusher and flosser, you might wonder why professional dental cleanings are necessary. The fact is that plaque builds up in the tiny areas between teeth where a toothbrush and dental floss cannot reach. This plaque will harden into tartar when it is not removed, easily developing into cavities or even gum disease. The only way to remove the tartar is with professional dental tools.
